FDA Helps Pharma Grow Orphan Drugs

ACRO supports a strong, well-funded FDA to carry out its important mission, both domestically and internationally. Specifically, ACRO advocates for increased appropriations for the agency’s international activities and supports the agency’s goal of bolstering its regulatory science capabilities. ACRO and its members meet frequently with FDA officials to discuss a variety of regulatory issues of importance to the CRO industry and to collaborate on projects that advance the drug development process.  Since the association was founded in 2002, every FDA Commissioner has met with the ACRO Board of Directors.

ACRO holds a seat on the Steering Committee of the FDA-sponsored Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI) and is an active participant in the Alliance for a Stronger FDA.
