A new Datamonitor report says the life sciences industry could save millions in drug development costs through the widespread adoption of electronic data capture and clinical trial management systems. Many CROs offer such solutions, the report notes, adding it expects adoption rates to increase rapidly.

 

 

An NHS oversight body is drafting plans to tell patients about drugs available in Europe and the U.S. but not offered by the NHS due to cost or other considerations. Britain's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, which decides what drugs are included in NHS treatment programs, said it is the ideal body to provide independent data on drugs that patients would need to pay for privately.

 

 

Clinilabs announced the expansion of its Phase I unit in New York City. The facility now comprises 68-beds, including two new large observation rooms that can accommodate up to four beds each, or up to 12 PK seats. Clinilabs says it can conduct Phase I studies in any therapeutic area.
