Mr. Herring is Chairman and CEO of Covance Inc., one of the world’s largest drug development services companies with approximately $1.5 billion in annual revenues, more than 8,700 employees, and operations located in more than 20 countries.

Mr. Herring was elected Covance's Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 2006, in addition to his role of Chief Executive Officer. He assumed the position of CEO in January 2005.

Mr. Herring joined Covance in 1996 as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of North America Early Development. He was promoted to the position of Global President of Early Development Services in September 1999, responsible for worldwide Preclinical testing and Phase I services. He was instrumental in driving the turnaround of that business into one of Covance's top financial performers. In November 2001, he assumed the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Covance where he was responsible for all of Covance's business units worldwide, including Early Development, Clinical Development, Central Laboratories and Commercialization Services. He was elected to Covance’s Board of Directors in June 2004.

Prior to Covance, Mr. Herring spent 18 years at American Hospital Supply Corporation, Baxter International, and Caremark International, where he held senior leadership positions, culminating in the position of Vice President and General Manager of Caremark’s oncology business.

Mr. Herring is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) - a professional organization of companies who conduct clinical research integral to the development of drugs, biologics, and medical devices.

Mr. Herring received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in 1978.

Simon Higginbotham is the President of Kendle. In this role he provides global leadership for the company's worldwide customer and business expansion efforts, including strategic customer relations and new market opportunities. He served as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Kendle from January 2004 until April 2008 and has been a key member of its executive team since joining the company in 2004. During his tenure, Kendle has consistently reported record sales, delivering growth at double, triple and double again the reported sector growth rate for Phase I-IV services in 2007, 2006 and 2005, respectively. As a result, Kendle was recognized as the "2006 North American Contract Research Organization Business Development Strategy Leader of the Year" by global growth consulting company Frost & Sullivan.

Mr. Higginbotham has more than 25 years of experience and success in senior leadership positions in the CRO and biopharmaceutical industries. He currently represents Kendle on the Board of Directors of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO).

Jeffrey P. McMullen has been director of PharmaNet Development Group, Inc. since June 2005, Chief Executive Officer since December 2005 and President since March 2006. Mr. McMullen co-founded PharmaNet, Inc. in 1996. Prior to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of PharmaNet, Inc. in 2004, Mr. McMullen held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer since 2003, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2001 and Senior Vice President, Business Development since 1996. Mr. McMullen has more than 30 years of drug development industry experience including international experience in Europe, Japan, South America and Asia. His professional experience includes 13 years with major drug development services companies as vice president of business development and director of clinical research, and nine years at Sterling Drug (now a part of Sanofi-Aventis) in the clinical, regulatory, and drug metabolism areas.

As chief operating officer of PPD (Nasdaq: PPDI), William Sharbaugh provides strategic direction and leadership to the company’s Phase II-IV clinical business, global central labs, information technology and human resources. He joined PPD in 2007, bringing more than 16 years of research and development management experience garnered at two of the world’s leading pharma companies.

Most recently, Sharbaugh served as vice president of global development operations at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he was responsible for strategic direction for clinical operations in 55 countries. He provided operational leadership for global clinical operations, data management, patient recruitment, contracting and outsourcing management, clinical supply operations, training and quality management. Prior to his six-year tenure at BMS, Sharbaugh spent 10 years at Merck & Co. in a variety of assignments in clinical supply operations, sales and manufacturing.

Sharbaugh holds a master’s degree in the management of technology from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School and School of Engineering, a master’s in regulatory affairs and quality assurance from Temple University School of Pharmacy and a master’s in international relations from Boston University School of Arts and Sciences. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and subsequently held various leadership positions in a Patriot missile battalion.

MDS Pharma Services President David Spaight has more than two decades of experience in the global life sciences industry and a track-record of successfully building strong businesses.

Prior to joining MDS in April 2006, he served as Senior Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing at Fisher Scientific Products, where he was responsible for the integration of the sales, marketing and research and development teams in North America, Europe and Asia. In this role, he consolidated R&D into four centers of excellence and implemented a new product and development process to speed time to market. Before joining Fisher, Mr. Spaight held senior sales, marketing and general management positions at PerkinElmer, Inc., in the Life and Analytical Sciences Division. He left the company in 2005 as Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Michigan. In 2008, he was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO -- www.acrohealth.org) which represents the clinical outsourcing industry to regulators, biopharmaceutical clients, policy makers and the public in the United States and around the world.

As Chairman and CEO of PAREXEL, Mr. von Rickenbach has taken PAREXEL from its pioneering beginnings as one of the first clinical research organizations (CROs) more than two decades ago to its place as one of the top three public clinical service providers today. He has led PAREXEL through its IPO, multiple public offerings, and over 30 acquisitions during the Company’s history of more than 25 years to expand its portfolio in order to meet changing client needs and market demand. Under his leadership, PAREXEL has evolved to provide a broad range of services to the biopharmaceutical industry, including integrated clinical development, regulatory affairs consulting, commercialization services and technologies that expedite time-to-market.

Foreseeing the globalization of clinical research, Mr. von Rickenbach has worked to expand PAREXEL’s global footprint to provide access to a wide array of geographies for clients’ programs. PAREXEL now operates in 63 locations throughout 52 countries, and has more than 7,600 employees.

Mr. von Rickenbach has made several innovative contributions to the advancement of the biopharmaceutical services industry through PAREXEL, including conceiving of a complex, multi-disciplinary, systems-oriented approach to outsourced clinical development, bringing efficiencies, speed, scalability and standardization to the business. As part of the S-1 filing to the SEC, he was among the first to define the industry in formal terms. As the biopharmaceutical industry adopted information technology, Mr. von Rickenbach created a leading advanced technology offering, and today PAREXEL’s subsidiary Perceptive Informatics is a front runner in providing eClinical solutions.

Mr. von Rickenbach’s extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical services industries puts him at the forefront of drug development and management. After having begun his career with Schering-Plough, Mr. von Rickenbach also held positions with ENSECO (formerly ERCO).

Mr. von Rickenbach served as Chair of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) in 2005, and is a long-standing member of the ACRO Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Healthcare Institute. Mr. von Rickenbach holds a B.S. degree in Business Economics from the Lucerne School of Business in Switzerland and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University.

Dr. Derek Winstanly came to Quintiles in 1999 as President of Quintiles Japan and was responsible for implementation of the Japan and Asia-Pacific Contract Pharmaceutical Organizations (CPO), including the region's Preclinical, Clinical, Commercial, Academy and Informatics divisions.

In 2002, he became Chairman of Japan and Regional Director for the Asia-Pacific Region. In June 2005 Dr. Winstanly was appointed Executive Vice President of Strategic Business Partnerships for Quintiles Transnational Corp.

In this global role, Dr. Winstanly works with senior executives of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to provide long-term strategic solutions. He also is responsible for the Office of the Chief Medical Office, and for the ethics and quality assurance functions of the company. He also serves on the Quintiles Asia-Pac board.

Prior to joining Quintiles, Dr. Winstanly worked for Glaxo Wellcome, plc, now GlaxoSmithKline, for 15 years. He first joined Glaxo South Africa as Medical Director in charge of Clinical Development, Regulatory and Medical Affairs. After being named and serving as Chief Executive Officer of the South African company, Dr. Winstanly moved to the U.K. to accept the position of Director, Migraine & New Therapy areas, where he was responsible for the International Commercial development of all products in these disease areas. Following the merger of Glaxo, Inc. and Burroughs, Wellcome & Co., he was appointed President of Nippon Wellcome, now GlaxoSmithKline K.K., in Japan.

Dr. Winstanly graduated as a Medical Doctor, M.B.Ch.B. from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1972 and is registered as Medical Practitioner in both the U.K. and South Africa.
