Joe Herring of Covance Elected 2011 ACRO Chair

February 7, 2011- WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO), which represents the global clinicaloutsourcing industry to regulators, biopharmaceutical clients, policy makersand the public, today announced its Board of Directors has elected Joe Herring,Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Covance Inc., as its 2011 Chair.

Mr. Herring joined Covance in 1996 after spending 18 years in a variety ofsenior positions in the healthcare services field. He became a member of theCovance board in 2004, assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2005, andhas been Chairman of the Board since 2006. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University.Covance, headquartered in Princeton, NJ, is one of the world’s largestand most comprehensive drug development services companies with operations onmore than 30 countries and more than 10,000 employees worldwide.
