Exploring the Future of Clinical Research in India

Written by:
Clay Alspach, JD, Executive Director, ACRO

ACRO was proud to join leaders from across the global clinical research community at the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) 19th Annual Conference, engaging with regulators and industry partners to discuss the future of clinical research in India.

Throughout the conference, ACRO representatives contributed to panels and discussions focused on strengthening India’s clinical research ecosystem and expanding global collaboration.

Key themes included continued regulatory progress, infrastructure and site development, expanded investigator training, and the importance of patient diversity in generating high-quality, globally relevant data. Participants also emphasized the value of public-private partnerships in accelerating innovation and creating sustainable pathways for growth.

As part of our engagement, ACRO met with ISCR leadership and key stakeholders to align on specific actions to address remaining barriers and advance shared priorities. These conversations continued in informal settings with colleagues from ACRO member companies, reinforcing our commitment to collaboration.

The ACRO delegation included (Pictured Left to Right) ACRO Board member Peyton Howell, ACRO Board Vice-Chair Gadi Saarony, ACRO Board Chair Sandy Kennedy, Executive Director Clay Alspach, and ACRO Board member Catherine Gregor.

ACRO was thrilled to convene members of the ACRO India Clinical Trials team, representing member companies Advarra, Fortrea, ICON plc, IQVIA, Parexel, Syneos Health, and Veeva Systems.

We are grateful to ISCR for convening such an informative and action-oriented conference and for fostering open, solution-oriented dialogue. ACRO looks forward to continuing to work with Indian stakeholders and government leaders to advance clinical research that benefits patients in India and around the world.
