ACRO has released key highlights from a recent survey focused on Americans’ views on clinical trials and clinical research. Commissioned by Research!America in partnership with ACRO, the October 2023 national survey captures a snapshot of attitudes about clinical research.
The survey found that an overwhelming majority of Americans (87%) agree that health care professionals should discuss clinical trials with patients diagnosed with a disease as part of their standard of care. Further, sixty-one (61%) percent agree that consideration of clinical trial participation should be a part of regular health care whether patients are healthy or ill, up from 44% in 2017.

“We hope this data helps to shed some light on how Americans feel about clinical research,” said Doug Peddicord, Executive Director of ACRO. “Having a better understanding of current attitudes and beliefs allows our industry to meet people where they are as we continue to educate the public about clinical research.”
